At twelve years old, while on vacation with my family in Perth, Australia, a very friendly taxi driver asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. Without hesitation, I confidently replied,
“A writer.”
Twenty-one years later, with too many auditions to list under my belt, one performing credit after the next on my resume, and acting awards and honours to my name, I found myself thinking fondly on that little girl in the taxi.
I had chosen a path in the performing arts, but she knew long before I did that writing was what I was called to do.
I have always marveled at the vast imagery that can come from the English language. I am led by a deep-seated passion for telling stories. And after embarking on my Me, Wholeheartedly journey, I realized that if writing was what I was called to do, then writing is what I should do.
January 1st, 2019. That was the day I started my Me, Wholeheartedly journey. Inspired by Brené Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection, I committed to 365 days of wholehearted self-work. By the time new year celebrations rolled around, through the consistent act of writing daily affirmations and holding myself accountable to them, I was able to find the key that would unlock the me I longed to be...me, wholeheartedly. What started as a New Year's resolution, soon ignited into a way of life, and now, with my pen in hand and my purpose clear, I offer you, Me, Wholeheartedly: The Movement.
I am so excited about all that this next chapter can bring and I'd love to have you share in it with me.
Me, Wholeheartedly is raw and real. It will get messy and you will more than likely experience great discomfort. If you embrace the journey though, as I did, what awaits you is a freedom unlike anything you've ever known and the fulfillment you've been searching for.
So what do you say? Are you ready for the journey? Are you ready for Me, Wholeheartedly?
To live wholeheartedly is to trust that there is a greater force grounding, guiding, and gifting you with all that you will ever need.
Not sure how to start your Me, Wholeheartedly journey?
My book of affirmations is the perfect introduction.
We all need a helping hand on the path to healing. Here are a few helpful resources...
